themuseologist: One of the rare things I feel compared to reblog in full. The story behind the world’s oldest museum, built by a Babylonian princess 2,500 years ago In 1925, archaeologist Leonard Woolley discovered a curious collection of artifacts while excavating a Babylonian palace. They were from many different times and places, and yet they were neatly organized and even labeled. Woolley...

Artifact Profile: the Rosetta Stone
historicity-was-already-taken: For those who are new to this blog, you may find the background to this post right here. That will explain what I’m doing, and why I’m writing this as more of a journalist than a history blogger. junk of mine (PART II)
abelsloane: The Woodworker Annual Volume XL. 1936 Bryant & May’s Special Safety Matches and matchbox case 1920’s/1930’s Desk Lamp… unfortunately had to replace the split bakerlite switch for this too-shiny modern one. Hopefully it will gain its age back in no time. I overly-plaster my fingerprints over it to speed up the process. Match holder and striker in the base of the light

detoxdiary: There’s an old seminary near our house that’s open to visitors every Visita Iglesia. My parents discovered it by accident last year. You have to walk through dimly lit hallways that surround their garden before you reach the courtyard where the tabernacle is displayed. My…
